Dear Parents and Caregivers,
I hope that Easter was a time of joy for you as you celebrated our risen Lord Jesus with your families. Around the streets in my area parents had organised Easter egg hunts of a different kind. It was wonderful to see families celebrating in new ways.
Term 2
I am sure that you have seen that schools are moving back to normal face-to-face education. We thank God for answered prayer and that Australia, and in particular, South Australia has been spared the worst of the outbreak of the COVID-19. Amen to that. Advice from SA Health and Australia’s expert health body, AHPPC, remains unchanged. Schools are low risk environments for COVID-19, and should remain open. Parents and caregivers can choose to send their children to Hope Christian College and feel confident that they are not placing their children at increased risk of COVID-19.
We will keep in place our hand washing, classroom cleaning and social distancing as long as we need to. Please drop your children off at the gate as you have been. If you have little children, please take them to the classroom to drop them off and make your way off site as soon as you are able. Thank you for your help in these matters.
The College is open in Week 1 and you are able to send your children in Week 1, Monday 27 April. By the start of Week 2, Term 2, Monday May 4, we expect to be delivering all classes with normal face-to-face lessons. This will give parents and caregivers time to make arrangements to get their children to school.
Just to make it clear, by Monday Week 2, May 4, Hope Christian College will be having normal classroom lessons for all students and we hope that all students will be back in their classrooms for normal lessons.
I would like to thank parents and caregivers for the way that you have cooperated with the College and been patient in these rapidly changing times. Please continue to work with us as we slowly work our way back to normal.
If you have been affected financially in any way by COVID-19 please send your children to school as normal. It is important that you call the College on 82871111 and ask to speak with someone in the Finance department to update them on your situation so we can adjust your fees and/or provide other assistance. We do not want any parent to be under further pressure due to a change in their finances.
It is essential that you do not send your child to school if they are unwell with any COVID-19, flu or cold symptoms. If a child displays any symptoms at school they will be removed from class and parents will be asked to collect the child immediately and have them tested and cleared of COVID-19 prior to returning to school. As an additional safeguard, if any member of your household is displaying symptoms of COVID-19, flu or cold, please call the College to discuss the situation.
If you have any questions, please call the office on 8287 1111.
Blessings in the name of our Lord Jesus,
Dominic Hopps
Principal
